ALBAWABA - The OIC and Arab League's "Gaza Contact Group," which handles Gaza issues, urged the international community to apply meaningful sanctions on Israel, including halting arms exports.

According to the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry, the Contact Group in Riyadh stressed that Gaza is part of the occupied Palestinian territories, opposed any attempts to displace Palestinians, and opposed any military operation against Rafah.

The statement explored ways to boost Islamic and Arab efforts to halt the Gaza Strip war promptly, emphasising the necessity to protect people under international humanitarian law.

The statement stated that the summit also discussed collaborative actions to implement a two-state solution and recognize a Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem and within June 4, 1967's borders.

The Contact Group urged the international community to impose effective sanctions on Israel, including halting arms exports, and expressed concern over Western countries' treatment of peaceful Gaza demonstrators demanding the end of war and Israeli violations and crimes.

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan chaired the Gaza Contact Group meeting to discuss Gaza developments.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, PLO Executive Committee Secretary-General Hussein Al-Sheikh, Diplomatic Advisor to UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Enver Gargash, and Qatari Foreign Affairs Advisor Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Attiyah attended the meeting.
